Ruthenium Dye
Development of technologies for renewable energy has been continuing as the major task and challenge from past two centuries. Photovoltaic solar cell technology has claimed suberiority as significant development has been witnessed over last two decades. A low cost and thin film solar cell i.e. dye sensitized solar cell brought revolution in renewable energy technology.
Preparation of ultra pure ruthenium dye and scale-up are the major challenges for this technology. Towards this end, we have developed synthetic process for the preparation of ruthenium dyes in highly pure forms.
We make and keep in stock various ruthenium dyes using bipyridine and terpyridine derivatives, such as “black dye”, “red dye” and “modified red dye”. We have also expertise in synthesis of ruthenium dyes with other multifunctional bipyridines and terpyridines in miligram to multigram quantity upon request.
In connection to this ruthenium program, we have also developed synthetic methods for ruthenium complexes with porphyrins and phthalocyanins.
Ru(p-cymene)(4,4'-dicarboxy-2,2'-bipyridine)Cl2 and dichloro (p-cymene)ruthenium (II) dimer are also available for new ruthenium dye synthesis.
Currently we are involved in developing practical and simple purification methods for ruthenium dyes.
